Sub-Zero Slime Show
Years K-6 (Early Stage 1, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)
A slimy, gooey, and cryogenically cool exploration of the states of matter and how heat causes a change of state. Solids and liquids are tested with slime, putty and wax, and spectacularly cool liquid nitrogen provides explosive demonstrations of the properties of gases.
The Sub-Zero Slime Show includes:
– Runny honey race
– Snapping silly putty
– Gooey cornflour slime and Borax slime
– Colour-changing liquid crystals
– Melting and freezing wax
– Super cool liquid nitrogen
– Frozen bubbles
– Expanding balloon pop
Syllabus Outcomes:
ST2-6MW-S A student describes how adding or removing heat causes a change of state.
ST3-6MW-S A student explains the effect of heat on the properties and behaviour of materials.
Primary School Booking Terms and Conditions
Price: $660 per session including GST
Duration: 50 minutes per show
Audience size: up to 120 students
Note: Larger audiences may be accommodated if the school hall has a raised stage and space for students to sit comfortably with an unobstructed view of the stage.
Payment options: direct transfer or card payment
Requirements: Well-ventilated indoor venue or sheltered outdoor area, large table (e.g. trestle table), access to a power point.
We can present up to 4 x 50 minute shows per day. Please allow 1 hour for setup in the venue and at least 10 minutes between sessions for equipment to be reset.
Details of risk assessments and public liability insurance are available on request and all Creative Science presenters have Working with Children clearance.
